Description
Situated on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean five kilometers south of Dominical in Puntarenas, Costa Rica, this villa offers visitors tranquility, privacy, and, luxury as well as convenience to the best of everything the country has to offer.
Fine beaches abound that provide world class surfing, and quiet splashes in the shallows as you walk the miles of sand at the water's edge. Fishing opportunities range from deep-sea forays for tuna and billfish to surf fishing for snook and red snapper. Baru Nature Reserve features guided tours through primary and secondary forests as well as zip lines that allow you to ride safely over the canopy. A delightful waterfall and pool, less than five minutes from the villa, invites swimming in a quintessential Costa Rican location.
Whether you are retired or retiring, seeking new business challenges, or simply searching out the pura vida lifestyle, living in or near Uvita is a unique experience with the tranquility of the mountain valleys and ridges perched above an emerging new commercial center in the town and the beautiful beaches including the famous Whale's Tail tombolo. Uvita combines services such as banks, pharmacies, supermarkets, business centers, hair salons, service stations and a medical center, while retaining a sleepy "beach and jungle" atmosphere.
Just south of Uvita, you will find Marino Ballena National Park, which boasts some of Costa Rica's most beautiful, unspoiled and pristine beaches and protected natural areas. And then a little bit further south from Ballena is the charming village of Ojochal, where you will experience restaurants featuring "jungle cuisine" at it's finest... all with Traditional, European or North American flair.
Farther south on the Costanera Sur Highway, you'll find the site of an 18 hole golf course (9 holes are currently completed and open for operation) in San Buenas, and two more traditional commercial centers in the towns of Cortes and Palmar. The brand new hospital is located in Cortes (a 20 minute drive) and a regional airport is located in Palmar (a 30 minute drive). A new international airport has been approved and sanctioned by the Costa Rican government and construction will begin in the near future at a determined location south of Palmar. It will service the entire Southern Zone including Corcovado, Golfito and Drake Bay.
All in all, you have found a piece of tropical paradise, here in Costa Rica's Southern Pacific Zone.
