This lovely old world castle built over 100 years ago is situated in the picturesque Shongweni Valley just 15 km on tar road from the village of Hillcrest in KZN, South Africa. Built mostly of hand cut stone, the castle is 5 stories high at its highest point, covering +- 2000 square meters under roof on 30 acres of a mixture of landscaped gardens and wild, indigenous bush (a large portion of which is surrounded by game fencing).

The main banquet hall (winning the 2009 gold award for the best wedding venue in KZN and coming second at national level) is used for weddings and other functions. It is circular in shape and seats +-120 people. It is supported by a modern caterers kitchen. Outside the main hall is a covered serving area with bar which is joined by an even larger open air entertainment arena. Below the banquet hall, a fully kitted out main bar seats +- 65 people. Modern ablution facilities are attached. The bar area leads out to a seated terrace, with a large fully lit Helicopter landing pad. Ample parking for +200 cars is located just past the helicopter pad.

The living area has a main lounge (90 sq meters) and smaller formal lounge (50 sq meters) each with its own fire place. Both lounges open out onto the main entertainment arena. A sunny breakfast room is attached to the house kitchen (kitchen not yet complete). A long passage passing the open arched lounges leads to 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (1 en suite) in various wings and turrets. A large reception/office leads into the 300 sq meter fully equipped workshop (machinery and equipment negotiable). Covered double garages, a large Koi pond and small bridge leads to the front entrance hall. A wine cellar with a deep unused, underground water supply is located behind the kitchen. Water and electricity are on main municipal supply.

This stately function venue and home is large and spacious and like most castles one can go on building forever. Although several parts of the castle may be considered a work in progress with this unique property the skys truly the limit.
